LB is a massive priority, more than at RB if Johnson can kick on next season
Fredericks is adequate back up if the budget is as non-existent as ̶G̶S̶B̶ ̶b̶u̶m̶b̶o̶y̶ HUGH LOLon claims

According to Ex Fredericks is staying and because of Ben Johnson they are not looking for a right back!

Agree about Cresswell too. Been a great buy for us and at the time he broke into the England squad he was one of the best in the country. Couple of seasons ago now since his best. Injuries and lack of pace now. Needs competition but not the worst backup.

Lots of championship and unproven players mentioned. Premier League is a massive step up. I think we need quality and that costs money.

Don't get the hate for cresswell. He's been a solid starter for us for 6 years. Couple of exceptional seasons and couple of so so ones. Think the time is right to start easing him out now.
I would buy two fullbacks. One young left back to ease out cresswell, and one experienced right back to give Johnson a couple of years to grow and blossom and hopefully make the position his own

Ryan Manning at QPR looks half decent...they have conceded a lot of goals this season but they are a very young team and he has been very impressive...Him and the Wigan lad would be a good move...one has to come good and maybe Robinson can play left midfield too.
Johnson looks good...keep him - I'd like to see Fredericks go but no one will pay his wages...another Sullivan clanger!

Ben Johnson has proven he is a capable back up with big potential.
Sell Fredericks to a championsship side (that is his level. He has proven himself there) to raise funds for a right back for the first eleven.
If we can find buyers for Cresswell and Masuaku I would sell both. Sign that Robinson for 1.5 million plus another left back for him to compete with for a place in the first eleven.
If it is a choice between Cresswell and Masuaku then keep Cresswell as back up.

Crystal. If Max really is a wizard at free kicks and has the other attributes needed in a premiership full back then we should go for him. We have really only had 1 x free kick specialist in the last 10 years in Payet and it does make a huge difference to a side. Therefore, if we can, we should try and get a free kick specialist in one of the incomings this summer.
